Vivienne Westwood Launches AW20-21 Range Featuring Recycled, Vegan and Biodegradable Materiels

@VivienneWestwood’s new Autumn Winter 2020-2021 range has arrived and is inspired by British heritage fabrics. The pieces are designed to be timeless so they can continue to be worn year after year.

Hemp is one of the key fabrics used in the collection, an eco-friendly material that is gentle on the planet and uses little water. Hemp reduces pests, controls erosion of the topsoil and creates oxygen.

Westwood’s AW20-21 range also includes vegan leather, 100% biodegradable and recycled linen satin, and recycled nylon, created from bottles and clothing scraps.

A part recycled/re-generated denim has also been introduced. The cotton yarn used to make the denim fabric comes from production waste. The indigo dyeing process creates unavoidable waste, but here, that left over material is regenerated and transformed into a new yarn.

#VivienneWestwood’s collection demonstrates her ongoing commitment to creating fashion that is kind and fair to both the planet and the people making the clothes. #VWAW20
