The Bally brand was born when Carl Franz Bally took over his family’s factory in 1851. The factory was based in a Swiss town occupied mainly by luxury crafts people, most of who were employed by Bally. Initially focusing on shoes, Bally soon diversified into handbags and ready to wear
Restraint is part of Bally’s DNA, in general ‘less is more’. Even when embellishment is the focus of a certain piece, it is done minimally. Bally blends panache and restraint, ‘free of attitude but not of confidence’. It is the opposite of show-offish.
