In 1997 rule breaking designer John Galliano was appointed as Dior’s Creative Director to help Dior attract a younger customer. For his 2001 Spring/Summer Collection, Galliano ripped Dior apart. He dedicated his show to “Trailor Trash”, and reinterpreted many of the classic Dior bags for this collection, including the Dior Saddle bag, to look like an iconic car.He took inspiration from his ’69 Cadillac, incorporating a “number plate” and reflector lights to the bags. The number plate references Christian Dior - 1947 is the year that he showed his first collection, and Avenue Montaigne is the street Christian Dior is located in Paris. The show opened with a soundtrack of Jerry Springer audience chants and closing with a parade of ravaged...

Additionally, a pre-order and made-to-order system...
